Yes. The choice of where you receive therapy is always yours. While the majority of our patients come to us by physician referral/recommendation, many clients request to see us due to our strong clinical reputation in the community.
Not necessarily – varies by state but Georgia allows patients direct access to physical therapy without physician referral. However, some insurance plans still require physician referral. Give us a call and we can help you determine the need for a referral or see you for a complimentary injury screen to help determine the best course of action.
We participate in the majority of major health insurance plans including Medicare and Worker’s Compensation. Please contact us prior to your first visit to see if we participate with your specific health plan.
As a service to our patients, we will gladly file claims with your insurance company on your behalf. In order to appropriately submit these claims, we will need to obtain a copy of your insurance identification card to ensure that we have the necessary information.
Your therapist will conduct an evaluation of your condition lasting between 60-90 minutes. The evaluation is necessary to create a program designed specifically to address your needs for a maximum recovery.
– Referral slip from your medical doctor
– Your medical insurance card
– Your ID
– If you are getting therapy as a result of a worker’s compensation claim or an automobile accident, you will also need to bring your claim information, including claim number.
Please arrive 15 minutes early on your first visit to fill out any necessary paperwork.
We recommend comfortable clothing such as sweatpants or shorts, a T-shirt or tank-top and sneakers.
Each visit will last 60 – 90 minutes on average. Times vary due to the treatment and exercises being performed.\r\n\r\n
The regularity of your visits will be determined after your initial evaluation, but most patients have 3 visits each week scheduled.

Physical Therapy Student Information
Advance Rehabilitation is strongly committed to providing an optimal learning environment so students can have an exceptional clinical experience. Being a therapist-owned and operated private practice, Advance strongly values clinical excellence and works hard to maintain manageable caseloads for its’ therapists which provides an ideal learning opportunity for students. We feel that our clinics offer a diverse clinical caseload including a variety of different outpatient orthopedic and outpatient neurological conditions. Advance Rehabilitation is also the official sports medicine provider for several area colleges and high schools which further enhances a student’s clinical rotation. Additionally, Advance has an Industrial Medicine program for which students can gain experience in work hardening/conditioning as well as functional capacity evaluations.
We enjoy the opportunity for students to experience what Advance Rehabilitation offers and students seem to enjoy their learning experience here as well, as we often employ students who have successfully completed their rotations with us.
Advance Rehabilitation requires that all students present proof of professional liability insurance and CPR certification.
As Advance Rehabilitation uses a number of clinical philosophies we recommend that you bring any study material related to orthopedic physical therapy.
When I began therapy for my back I was unable to sit, could hardly walk and in general could hardly move without pain. I began at Advance on April 2, 2014 and was dismissed on June 17th. I was going twice a week. Through the efforts of these therapists I am back to normal life with no pain… mowing, weeding, etc. I cannot say Thank You enough for the group at Calhoun, GA and would highly recommend anyone to see Advance rehabilitation as their first choice for this need. You will be treated with kindness and understanding!
After having knee surgery I came to therapy to see if it would help bring my knee back to full strength. I was extremely surprised on how much improvement was gained after just my first visit. After 4 visits I could walk a lot better and the stress pain of the surgery was gone. I pushed myself to reach certain goals and the instructors worked with me closely to reach them. I am very pleased with the outcome and would recommend to anyone who has had any issue with their knee or any other moving parts to come here to get help. I’m glad I did.
I want to thank Advance Rehabilitation for the clean, well equipped and cheerful center, with very helpful professionals and instructors. My doctor suggested for me to go to Advance Rehabilitation to see if they could help me with a long existing left hip problem (Bursitis) and loss of muscle, and a new pain in my right ankle. I was somewhat skeptical, but thought I would give it a try. I am pleased to say with my Therapists help, instructions and his skilled techs I walked out almost new. I can walk up the stairs normally, one step at a time. My ankle is not hurting and I can work without pain. Thank you for my Advance Rehabilitation t-shirt. I will wear it proudly and suggest anyone needing help, to try your center.
